kEda on her album:
This album was the result of childhood longings, despereaux girls, and dark corners. I usually like to begin my process with the Stone Age tool – the pencil – and scratch out my visions quickly before they vanish. I prod and mould the drawing a little until I come out with a basic idea that I can now scan and pull into Photoshop. From there, I use my trusty Wacom to bring the painting to life.
When I get started developing a character or idea, for some reason, I always find myself drawn to the female form. My next thoughts are occupied with quirky, odd or fun twists which will help to create the initial happy, cheerful look, but on closer examination has sombre or dark undertones. If my images make you think, look again, ask questions or even make you question my sanity, then I’ve done my job well.
