Today, April 17th, marks the first day of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. From over 5,000 submissions, the final 217 films have been chosen and demonstrate that creativity and love are alive and well in the film industry.

Ranging from innocently funny to utterly devastating the offerings at the festival this year, coming in from 35 countries, will surely make you see the world around you in a different light. Since the festival’s founding in 2002 it has been known for its ability to bring together talents who have been creating films for decades with those who are only just starting to spread their wings. This year the Tribeca Film Festival showcases work with renowned directors and actors such as Ramin Bahrani, Julianne Moore and Jean Dujardin as well as numerous films which work with everyday citizens or new talents who never imagined a camera would follow their lives.
