To celebrate the summer of 2011/12, some of our country’s most popular artists have collaborated on a cover of a 1984 dancefloor-hit, ‘Sunglasses at Night’. The original track was written and recorded by Canadian singer/songwriter Corey Hart, and has been given new life by the local talent that our music scene has to offer.
The combination of artists from very different musical genres, including JR, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Locnville, Van Coke Kartel, aKING and Thieve, gives the song its unique South African flavour. The track combines rock, rap and electronic elements giving it the potential to be a massive cross-over hit, and the anthem for summer. In the spirit of the season for giving, the song will be available for free download from ray-ban.com! All the listeners need to do is click HERE to begin the free download.
Corey Hart:
Please pass on my best wishes through Tommy Tucker and Philip to the all the artists involved. I am flattered by their choice of single for this project; I think they did a slamming hip on the song.
