I moved to Stellenbosch this year to study and I’m a long way from home. If you give me a ticket I will absolutely rock it because I have never been to RTD before and so I have all this pent-up energy just waiting to be released. I’ve been working hard and am desperate for a little outdoor fun! I’ll even promote One Small Seed and take photographs of all the festivities, if you just give me the chance

Dear One Small Seed/Rocking the Daisies
This wallflower has been wilting in the UK’s drab weather for the past 2 Southern African sunny springtimes. This shrub’s needs are simple. I urgently require soil, sunshine, soulfood, and liquid nourishment (ideally of the fermented kind) for immediate photosynthesis-preferably planted in a pretty (awesome) garden of Daisies.
Please Help! – (it’s a jungle in here!)
Sincerely,
Sad Tiger Lily.

The PLAN is to ROCK these Daisies with all my heart, body and soul!!!
To Rocking the Daisies I hope to go.
With only the absolute essentials in tow.
Forget the tent, forget the bed.
That’s too much clutter for my head.
Don’t need make-up, don’t need shoes.
Need that space for my booze.
I’d bring my sunnies and some extra cash monies.
And a camera to capture all the funnies.
But the biggest essential is an open mind,
Since this event is one of a kind.
Bloc Party in S.A is a rare occurrence.
And sadly ticket money is a major deterrence.
This Rocking the Daisies weekend is all that I need,
So pleaseeeee make this weekend possible, One Small Seed

AAAAHHHHH WHEN MUSIC CONSUMES ME!!! And then you wanna through in a tent, booze, the outdoors, roadtrip and lakke people. Is it a option to contain myself? NOOIT MEISIE! Attending would simply make my boday vibrate! I’ve never been and always suffer from heavy FOMO (fear of missing out). I’d really like to loose my mind and go bos at Blocing the Daisies, I mean. ONE OF THE BIGGEST JOLS EVERS IN SA, INNNNN MA BACK YARD. Like, i can’t deal. Make it happen pleeaasssee. I’d even be part of ur team if it means going. Be kind ne.

I intend to rock daisies with my crazy dancing shoes on and a huge smile on my face. I never had the chance to go last year, and i have been regretting it ever since. This year I am determined more than ever to go to daisies with a smile, some presents for strangers and my papsak. Its my boyfriends 21st on the friday of daisies, so I have been entering every competition to try and win a ticket !
i even drew this picture http://welovehumphry.blogspot.com/2012/09/bloc-partyumphry.html because i am so desperate to get him one
and a little poem (that is a bit cheesy and lame, but i tried :P)
rocking the daisies is a week away,
iv been entering these competitions so i dont have to pay
i am counting the days til i get to frolic in the sun
especially cause my boyfriend will be twenty-one
to give him a ticket would be the ultimate best
and we’ll be on our way to rocking the daisies fest
we’ll dance all night to our fave bands and djs
but rocking the daisies is no place for pjs
the dam will call our name in the afternoon
and then we’ll know its bloc party soon
we’ve loved them forever so it will be such a treat
we’ll dance until we cant feel our feet
one small seed, please make my day
and surprise me by saying i dont have to pay
PLEASE one small seed.
you will make him the happiest ever (even though he has no idea im doing this haha)
i was even at your first magazine launch party. (which should count for something, because i love you so much)

That time when you take your boyfriend home for the first time and your father asks “what are your intentions with my daughter?”… well, let me tell you that if my boyfriends (for this story let’s pretend I have one) intentions with me were even slightly aligned to my intentions to ROCK the DAISIES… then my father would plutz. My intentions are to do everything both him (my father that is) and my mother have spent the last 19 years of my existence asking me to please avoid doing. Obviously, though – nothing that I plan on doing will cause any harm to livestock, people and/or the flowers.
I intend on rocking those daisies from dusk till dawn – and bouncing with buddies all day till we yawn.
I want to hug strangers and meet new peeps I want to do all of this until my knees are weak.
I want to giggle and swim until the gunk on my skin is thick– I want to float on my lilo until the sun makes me sick.
I want to put smiles on people’s faces because I know the words to the tunes – I want to kiss them on their foreheads if I see them starting to get the blues.
I want to trade the city for a weekend in the flowers – I want to do this so bad, that if I do – I think I’ll be able to share my magic powers.
I’ll let you in on a secret – this one is big so hush hush – oh no I can’t, not just yet – give me those tickets and I will make you blush

I plan to Rock Daisies so hard that I am still empty and hungover and sunburnt for at least a week afterwards. Last year I rocked Daisies so hard that I got Tonsillitis and couldn’t go to my Matric Dance Afterparty. Bleak, one might think? HELLS NO! I would do it all again, no doubt about it.
Barefoot, in my summer dress and jingling ankle bracelets, with my sundrunk persona and constant supply of brutal fruit slushies to keep me buzzing from morning till night. From dipping in the dam, jamming to my favourite bands (Bloc Party ) and sleeping – never, I will rock out at Rocking the Daisies however you want me to … Always living in the moment!
Plus, it happens to be my birthday on the 8th and would be the best gift EVER. Also, this young student has no money. So no free ticket – no Daisies … Come on, help a brother

I intend to Rock the Daisies by exploring each feature of the festival, by walking around and attending each part of the festival…and while I’m doing that I will make a conscious effort to pick up litter and hopefully everyone around me will see me, and do the same!

Once again a year has gone by
And I would really LOVE to go to RTD, why?
It’s my birthday on thursday
And I would really need to shout ‘Hurray!
I am spending it at RTD!’
I have never been to this fest
But I have heard it is the best!
I have entered every competition
Just to be told ‘you’re not in.’
So please please please, make my day (and year)
By telling me I dotn have to pay.
I am SO prepared for RTD this year.
I got my gum boots at the ready and I finished
sewing my moon belt two days ago.
One problem!
I don’t have a ticket, because money is tight at the mo.
So please dont let me spend my weekend parying with the daisie bush
in my garden I want to be at the REAL thing!
Much love!

I have only child syndrome so I’m pretty much used to getting everything I want, and what I want is RTD tickets

I fucking hate these competitions where it is encouraged to beg the promoters for tickets through a public platform such as facebook. What happened to traditional randomly selected winners?

I’ve never been to Daisys before due to living like a proper student but this year it falls on my 21st Birthday this weekend and i’m so keen to spend it with all my mates who are going up. Combine an ordinary 21st celebration with a legendary event and i’ll be sure to make it the best 21st ever. I Plan on going all out if I can get a ticket and manage to scrape by the funds for enjoying the festival to the max cos I know it will be worth it. Too ampt to watch all the bands such as Bloc Party and the hundreds of local talents we have to offer.
Getting these tickets will probably the greatest present I’ve have ever gotten. The announcement on my birthday will allow me to hop straight into a car and head up to the camp site.

Last time I went to Daisies, my awesome friends strapped me to a chair using duct tape – all limbs bound (please see pic that I tweeted)! At first I was unwilling, but soon I started having fun…
You get a whole different perspective on the party when you’re unable to move or talk. Beautiful people give you attention, you can be with people without having to talk to them, random people that pass by give you sympathy, cold beer, coins, clothing, wine, food, massages and take photos of you. Talk about going from zero to hero!
So how do I intend to rock the daisies this year? Strapped to a chair of course! This time, I also hope that I’ll be able to get people to carry me between tents and stages, so that I can avoid the long walk! The plan is that I’ll bring my own deck-chair and duct-tape, position myself strategically, and wait for my malicious friends to do the deed once again! If you see me, do something nice for me – feel free to get creative!

I intend to RTD by dancing till my legs give in,making friends with every soul&letting go of inhibition!
I will dance till i need to crawl
I will swim till the sun sets
I will make friends with every happy soul
I will make time to just absorb the beauty of it all
I will crowd surf
I will leave all my worries behind
I will let go of all inhibtion
I will let the daisies rock me!
pretty please!!!

Been Rocking the daisies since 08
Every time a different fate
So some weird story I will not create
But a great weekend you can await
Now and open mind always comes first
Otherwise your weekend is sure to be cursed
Losing your friends is not the worst
Cos making new ones will make you burst
Essential to remember is the sleep
And from a siesta you will reap
But to avoid a little weep
Ensure that you do set the beep
To make sure you on the right mission
Be certain to leave the inhibition
And rather follow your intuition
By getting yourself in a weird position
In the water you must make a splash
And to your towel you shouldn’t dash
Even if it is for a hash
Or whatever else you wana stash
At the main stage you could dance all day
Or under lemon trees you can lay
There is the choice of dancing in hay
And on the grass you should play
At electro you will go totally cray
And when your legs give a loud ‘nay’
You say ‘hey – we gonna stay
Cause for this we didn’t pay’

How WOULD I Rock The Daisies?
I feel the more appropriate question is how will I NOT Rock The Daisies.
From boardies and sunnies, to Explorer 200s and water wings,
one must always remember the very important little things.
There will be ice for the booze and drinking games I am sure to lose,
With a smile on my face and a mission with my mates,
for Rocking the Daisies 2012 I will not be late.
Arriving on Thursday, my tent will be made,
right next to my bottle of Vodka and Energade.
Partying all night, rocking all day,
I will be sure to find a tree to chill and lay.
Sunday will come, but I will of had fun,
and the memories of Rocking the Daisies 2012 will be with me when I next drink a cold one of rum.
